Lilitu

The splicing of male and female forms, the lilitu are the right and left hands of Lilith, demon prince of lust. Commanding and domineering, these archdevils act as the high priestesses of their matron, driving forward her will in all things. Lilitu are considered some of the most dangerous and insidious demons boasted by the legions of hell.

Standing over seven feet tall, the lilitu appear delicately built, with long limbs and reverse jointed legs, giving them a fawn-like appearance; graceful and beautiful. A long, whip like tail extends out from their rear, ending if a tuft of black fur. Their pale white skin gives way to solid black at their limbs, as if they were all wearing skin tight gloves and boots.

The blending of the male and female characteristics are noticeable almost immediately. Their spine curves in a feminine arch, pushing forward an ample bosom, yet their hips are narrow, featuring prominent male genitals. From those hips, a set of leathery, bat-like wings spread and fold around their waist, offering the illusion of a skirt.

The lilitu’s face is androgynous; pale and bloodless, with wide, smoldering black eyes, prominent lips and high cheekbones. Their hair comes in several shades, ranging from the darkest black to bloody crimson to crystalline blue. Two large horns extend from their heads, drawing further comparisons to gazelles or deer.

Ultimately, all lilitu are the embodiment of dominance. With the sole exception of their matron, they seek to conquer any who stand before them. Their very presence subverts relationships, turning their focus on to them. They commandeer a lover’s passion, a child’s trust in their parent, a friend’s need for companionship. To their victims lilitu becomes an amalgamation of closest friend, doting parent, dearest lover and commanding religious figure. Those that fall under a lilitu’s spell have their emotional needs for safety, security and obedience fulfilled and offer up their services and lives in exchange.

Even those that are not immediately taken in by the devil’s sexuality seem to succumb over time. The lilitu quickly becomes their closest friend and confidant or an authority figure in their life. Slowly, by increments, regardless of the mortal’s sexual inclination, they find themselves becoming attracted to the lilitu’s features one by one, they are attracted not to specific aesthetics, but the lilitu as a whole.

The relationship built by a lilitu is not one way. While they may seem manipulative, the devils seem to genuinely care for their victims and take great strides to provide for them.  In return, their followers push the demon’s agenda, gathering to it more power and subjects. The lilitu prefers this level of discretion, acting through proxies to attack opponents rather than acting overtly.

However, if the demon’s victims are put in danger or they themselves are exposed, a lilitu’s will brutally engage in violence. Lilitu are extremely capable spellcasters, capable of casting several spells simultaneously. But even in melee they are formidable foes, a prehensile tongue and tail able to snake through enemy ranks and strength and speed enough to tear through defenses with ease. The combination of overwhelming magical power and impressive physical abilities makes a lilitu, especially an enraged one, a deadly encounter.

Lilitu Pacts

Pacts made with lilitu are normally done out of a desire for love. A qarinah may be offered to alleviate crippling despair, the demon may itself offer to become the mortal’s lover through possession, or they may seek to share in the devil’s prodigious charisma. Those pacted with a lilitu often radiate a similar, though weaker, aura of desire as the demon themselves. They can use this to inspire desire in others or manipulate mortals with relative ease.

The ultimate price of a lilitu pact is steep. Regardless of the terms, constant exposure to a lilitu’s power and presence will subvert the will of the mortal, leading to isolation and, eventually, complete subjugation.

Lilitu cults are extremely dangerous due to the ingrained loyalty of each member to the demon. Children view it as their parental figure, adults view it either as their closest friend or lover and all treat it with a reverence usually reserved for divine figures. Most are willing to die for the lilitu and attempts to break up a lilitu cult almost always end in violence.
