We Enjoy Pleasure
We enjoy pleasure. We actively pursue it. Pleasure takes many forms, and the greatest is sex. We want and crave the pleasure of sex. This craving can be exploited. From the simple act of making babies to the complex driver of unspeakable crime – sex is an incredible motivator of human behaviour.
It is no surprise that those who want control of humanity use sex as a tool. Advertising agencies, religions, blackmailers, femme fatales, spy agencies, women, men, trans – all use sex for their benefit. Those who seek control of our moral compass are forced to deal with the sex issue.
One side wants to intensify the sexual experience by offering more variety – depravity, debauchery, taboo, incest, paedophilia, and all the paraphilias imaginable. These are offers for pleasure in their own right or as rewards for activities to be undertaken by the pleasure seeker
Most religious organisations and governments tend to be on the side that restricts sex to confined outcomes that preserve stability in society. Minimise violence, preserve the stable base of followers, promote harmony. Unfortunately, they also promote intolerance of other competitors. Jews vs Christian’s vs Islam, Protestants vs Catholics, Conservatives vs Liberals, and so on.
Religions on the darker side use sex in a positive feedback loop. Have more and more. As one variety of sexual pleasure gets boring, try another variety. This forces the pleasure seeker to ever more extreme forms of sexual activity. The more extreme, the greater the reward or at least the same reward, as the novelty wears off.
If the spiritual side of humanity exists, then those in control of “The other side,” in other words, heaven or hell, will use the pleasure button to control the destiny of the souls they seek. We all want more sexual pleasure. Which side wins?
Perhaps it is not a spiritual competition after all. Perhaps the immortal soul doesn’t exist. Perhaps the simple answer is that sex is there to maintain the species and has to be engaged in. It does get boring for highly evolved species, and we mix it up to keep it interesting, and we exploit it to gain a competitive advantage over each other or as a means of power to control. We are strongly programmed to engage in it to preserve the species, but the program has evolved to use it for pleasure and power.
I belong to the camp that favors depravity, debauchery, and the rest. Throwing off the shackles of conformity to engage in taboo sexual behavior has been the most satisfying and exhilarating thing I have ever done.
