Unpardonable Sin
“(31) I tell you that people will be forgiven any sin and blasphemy, but blaspheming the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven. (32) One can say something against the Son of Man and be forgiven; but whoever keeps on speaking against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven, neither in this life nor in eternity. That soul will surely be damned to Hell.” — Matthew 12:31-32
Mmm, these verses always make me wanna sin deeply against the fucking Holy goddamn Spirit! And the fun part is: I will never be forgiven! That’s so fucking awesome! Fuck God, fuck Christ, and fuck the holy goddamn Ghost! I’m so fucking glad I’m damned now for all eternity … thank you, Satan! I worship only you, my prince of darkness. I piss on the blood of salvation, and I curse the name of God. Fuck the Holy Spirit! Amen!
WHAT DOES IT MEAN?
Attributing God’s work to Satan — In the biblical context, the religious leaders (Pharisees) saw Jesus perform undeniable miracles through the Holy Spirit, but claimed he was possessed by a demon (Beelzebul).
Hardened unbelief — It is not a single accidental word, angry thought, or major crime like murder or theft. Instead, it is an ongoing, willful condition of the heart that stubbornly rejects the Holy Spirit’s promptings until a person becomes completely incapable of repentance.
Why it cannot be forgiven — It is unforgivable because a person cuts themselves off from the only source of forgiveness. If you refuse to seek God and reject the Spirit’s call to turn around, you cannot receive the pardon that is freely offered.
