CHAPTER 5

Keeping her hand on the mark gave Lily a sense of comfort that she hadn’t felt in a long time. It almost felt like she had regained that piece of her body. Logically she knew that wasn’t true. So much of her life had been focused on getting them back, and she supposed she had, but it was in the most unconventional way possible. Could she trust Luke to keep them safe? Lily stroked the outline with her fingers. Luke still had her pressed up against his chest, the beating of his heart was keeping her emotions in check.

“You’ll keep them safe, won’t you?” She asked. Luke tightened his grip on her.

“As safe as I can. Doesn’t seem like I have much of a choice.” he muttered. He was stroking her shoulder. He knew full well he would do whatever he could to keep his demon happy. He just didn’t want her to know that.

“You always have a choice. It’s I that doesn’t have one,” Lily said wistfully.

“What do you mean?”

“You like that question, don’t you, Priest?” Lily laughed. “I mean you have my life force on your back. Wherever you go, I must go. I don’t know much about it, but I can feel that.”

“Chained to a demon, what has my life come to?” Sarcasm laced his tone. He sighed heavily and Lily pulled away from his grasp. Of course, this caused her to lose contact with the mark, and that caused a little bit of anxiety.

“We’ve got to find out more information about this. Did any of your books mention it?” Lily asked.

Luke shook his head, “No. But they were religious texts, so they probably wouldn’t.”

Lily stepped back from him and stood up. She wasn’t aware of how Luke’s gaze was fixed to her chest. He cleared his throat. “Can you put some clothes on, Lily?”

Lily looked down at him and then down at her naked body. She smiled as she walked over to the dress he had discarded earlier, “Am I distracting you?”

“No, something bothers me about seeing a creature of Hell strutting around naked in front of me,” he snapped.

“Funny, didn’t seem to bother you an hour ago,” Lily said with a hint of humor as she slid the dress over her head, “But, I wouldn’t want your holy eyes to be assaulted by my unholy form, now would I?”

Luke grunted in response but didn’t say anything. He crossed his arms over his chest. This cheeky demon was testing his very last nerve. What was more curious to him was exactly how human she looked. He knew it wasn’t her true form, but she mastered the body she controlled quite well. He shuttered as he remembered the pitch black of her eyes from earlier. The first night he slept with her, they had been ringed red, but he supposed she did that to line up with demon lore.

“You had red eyes the first night we were together, why were they black last night?” He asked.

“You humans think we have red eyes, so I gave you red eyes.” Lily shrugged.

“What do you really look like?” He asked, “I saw your skin darken earlier.”

“Hmmm, I must have been out of it. You don’t really want to know, Luke. Take me as I am, because right now I am your fantasy.”

“The pictures in my books showed horned monsters,” He was curious. He wouldn’t stop pushing. Lily looked down at him, amusement glinting on her features.

“Don’t believe everything you see. I don’t have horns. And I’m not red skinned, either.” With that, Lily let some of her true skin color through. It wasn’t exactly a human shade of brown, but it was brown. She snapped quickly back into the pale color she had been fronting for the past several years. “I look closer to you than you think, Priest. But you like pale noble girls, don’t you?”

Luke’s eyes widened. “I don’t know what you mean.”

“Yes, you do. We both live in this world, Priest. You are attracted to stature that your skin color will never afford you. In my true form, I have the same problem. But your fantasy is to marry a rich noblewoman.”

“I’ve never had fantasies of marriage,” Luke said weakly.

“Don’t lie to me, Priest. I’ve been in your head.” Lily backed up and sat on the couch. This man was exhausting. “It’s normal to dream of a life you can’t have. You can have it now, though.”

“With a demon,” he said with defeat. Truth was, if he hadn’t joined the priesthood, he would have done exactly what she said.

“Perhaps, but I can make you happy.” She had the feeling that there was no use trying to convince him. He wouldn’t believe her until he felt it himself.

“I don’t want to talk about this anymore.” He said suddenly, “Too much has changed and neither of us have any idea why. How can we figure it out?”

Lily thought for a moment, “I can think of one way, but I’m not sure if it’s possible.”

“What’s that?” He was annoyed. He clenched his arms tighter to his chest and tapped his foot.

“Go to the demon realm,” she said simply. Luke scoffed.

“That’s all?” he said incredulously. Lily nodded.

“Yes, to get answers for a demon problem, we need demons. But I don’t know if I can take you there, Priest. Not safely.” Her eyes softened, “I’m not sure if my wings will protect you from the travel. I’m not even sure if a mortal can enter the realm without dying.”

“Can you go without me?” He asked. Lily laughed, the sound was full and rich, and it filled him with contentment.

“And leave my most precious possession behind unprotected? I think not.” She leveled her gaze on him, “You will go nowhere without my protection, Priest.”

“Is it me you want to protect, or the mark?” He asked, annoyed. Was her concern truly for him?

“You are one and the same.” she replied. “We will figure out how to fix this, I promise. But I’m not going to take you anywhere that could get you killed.”

“I liked you better when you were pretending to be human.” Luke rolled his eyes.

“Didn’t we both?”

Lily turned her head towards the cottage window. Her priest was rightfully aggravated with her, but she didn’t have any answers for him. Nothing she could offer him at the moment would give him any solace. He would be just as angry with her half truths as he would be with her silence. She thought briefly about his request. He wanted to see her in her true form. Would showing him her true self make him trust her motivations? Most humans were terrified of her true form, the black eyes and the otherworldly tone of her skin. She sighed. If their roles were reversed, she would be just as angry as he was.

Against her better judgment, she started to let her magic down. Her skin slowly changed from the ghostly paleness of the Priest’s preference to its natural brown glow. She felt as her eyes reverted to their natural blackness, and her hair flowed even longer down her back in raven curls. The only part she wanted to shield him from was the absence of her wings. Much to her dismay, the base of them remained attached to her back jutting from either side of her spine. It looked painful and it was painful, but she would not garner his trust by hiding from him. She was, in her true form, much like she was in the visions she had placed in his mind.

All she could feel in this form was pain. The pain of not being complete, the pain of losing her family. The pain of being chained to an existence that solely fed on deceiving innocent humans into taking her into their bed. Her whole existence depended on that. Would her new bond with the Priest mean she wouldn’t have to feed on others anymore? Trying to find a new willing participant sometimes took months, as it had with the Priest, and the extended time between feedings brought her closer and closer to death. Her immortality only stretched so far as a disgrace. Even in the stifling dress, Lily suddenly felt cold. She hugged her arms around her, feeling strangely vulnerable. She knew Luke was watching her, but she didn’t care to know what he was thinking.

She jumped a little as his hands cupped her face. She wasn’t expecting tenderness from him. She had tried to kill him a few nights ago. That much he had been right about. How much easier would her life be if he had just died as he should have? She shuddered at the thought. She couldn’t imagine what her life would be like without him. Without him she may have never seen her wings again.

“What are you doing, Lily?” he asked softly.

“Trying to gain your trust.” she looked up at him with wide eyes. They were swirling black, but the depths of her emotions played across them plainly.

“I would have noticed you like this as well,” he said as he stroked her cheeks, “Maybe my fantasy was a high-born woman, but that’s always been out of my reach.”

“Even with these eyes?” A smile flashed across her lips.

“Especially with the eyes, though maybe not in a good way.”

Lily closed her eyes, when she opened them they were crystal blue, “How about now?”

“Better,” he said as he removed his hands from her face. “Lily, I may never fully trust you, but I do know that you won’t do anything to hurt me. It’s a step, and it’s the biggest one I can take right now.”

“It’ll have to be enough.” Lily said. “I know I tore your life apart, but you were never supposed to be around for the repercussions, Priest.”

“That’s not as comforting as you think it is, demon.” Luke laughed. “Is there anything else we can try?”

Lily sat back and thought for a minute. “I do have a relative nearby. I don’t think it’s safe for us to walk through town to get to him, but he may be able to come to us.”

“Wait. You’re not the only demon around here?” Luke’s eyes were wide.

“No. I’m the only one here in this village, but not the only one close by.” Lily reached out and took one of his hands in hers. “He’s not going to be so kind to you, Priest. His intention is to scare you. Just a warning if you want to go this route.”

The feeling of Lily’s hands on his sent a rush of warmth through him. The thought of more than one demon being around him made him want to vomit. Lily was enough. “I don’t want to, but I fear I’m going to have to.” He said honestly.

“Very well, as long as you’re sure.” Lily said solemnly. She closed her eyes and fell silent.

Luke stood in front of her, feeling more awkward than he ever had around another living being. She tightened her grip on him as if she was trying to protect him from something. He had never really felt her strength before, but it was crushing him at that moment. He tried to pull his hand out of hers, but she kept him firmly in place. A cold rush of air swept through the cottage. It froze Luke in place, the cold was crushing. Behind it came a heat of desire. One look into Lily’s eyes told him everything he needed to know. He was a human in the grips of a pleasure demon that wasn’t Lily. The power was different from hers. It wasn’t asking his permission and it wasn’t making sure his mind was okay with the invasion.

Luke was crumbling under it. His body hardened to its assault. His hardness was painful against the fabric of the pants he had on. He clutched at Lily’s hand. One look into her eyes told him everything he needed to know- she was terrified. Her eyes had blackened once more, and she rose from the couch to stand by Luke’s side. In a swift motion she wrapped her arm around his waist and drew him against her body. It no longer felt frail like the human one she inhabited. It gave him a little bit of hope that he would be safe from this new demon’s presence.

Don’t give into him, Priest. Lily’s voice trickled through his mind. Luke knew the two of them must look absurd standing the way they were. Even though she was taller as she was, she still wasn’t his height. Luke clenched his eyes shut as another wave of magic assaulted him. It tickled every part of his body, demanding he yield to it. He fought it as best he could, but he could feel his cock throbbing for release. What had he done to get tangled up with these creatures?

“Shynra,” The voice was otherworldly, it didn’t bother to blend in with the humans. It had a sleek, musical, seductive tone to it. Luke knew in an instant that he would do anything for it no matter how unwilling his mind was. His body wanted it. Luke could feel the demon standing in front of him as sure as he could feel Lily beside him. The mark on his back flared with possessiveness.

“Uncle,” she said demurely. Her voice may have resignation in it, but her grip on him remained steadfast.

“You clutch the human so tightly, can’t I just have a piece?” The demon leaned forward and pressed his lips to Luke’s neck, as if he was trying to taste Luke’s pulse. Pleasure washed through Luke’s body once more. “He wants me so.”

A hand trailed at the top of Luke’s pants and desire raged through him. He wasn’t interested in men, was he? Luke didn’t dare open his eyes. He felt Lily’s power flare, but it was a blip on the radar compared to her uncle’s power. Luke was suddenly acutely aware that he was shirtless, the new demon was moving his lips down Luke’s body in a trek to…. Luke’s body bowed as the man’s lips landed on his cock, even though it was through his pants. Luke could feel Lily’s anger, but she didn’t move from his side. A low moan tore from his throat.

“Mmmm, see? He likes it.” The demon chuckled as he started to unbutton Luke’s pants. He heard a growl come from Lily, “No need to worry, niece, I won’t mark him. I simply wish to see him squirm under my touch.”

Luke grunted as the demon ripped his pants off him in a swift motion. A sound akin to glee ripped out of the demon’s mouth as he laid eyes on Luke’s naked body. “Oh niece, you do know how to choose them, don’t you?”

Luke felt Lily’s grip on him tighten right as the other demon laid a kiss on his pelvis, just above where his body was aching for touch. The male demon brought his hands up to Luke’s hips to steady himself as he kissed a line down to Luke’s cock. Luke gasped as the demon’s mouth wrapped around the most intimate part of him. Pleasure erupted through his body as the demon swirled his tongue around the tip of his cock while pushing the length to the back of his throat. Luke’s body shook as the demon’s magic coursed through his body, wrapping around his mind in a way that made him okay with what was happening. Luke felt a hand cup his balls and roll them tenderly between deft fingers. The sensation was like nothing he had ever felt before, even with Lily.

He knew in the back of his mind that it was her uncle’s magic that was eliciting this reaction from him. What he felt with Lily was true lust, this wasn’t. But he’d be damned if the mouth latched around his cock wasn’t milking him for all he was worth.

“Fuck!” Luke swore. He dug his toes into the ground, vaguely aware that the only thing keeping him upright was Lily’s grasp on his waist. The male demon on his knees was bringing Luke to a quick climax. He felt the pleasure build up deep in his stomach, slower than it did with Lily, but just as hot. The demon brought his hand up to Luke’s cock and pumped him in rhythm with his mouth. Luke groaned as the pleasure reached its height. One last stroke and he was calling out to the nameless demon in control of his lust, spilling himself into the demon’s mouth.

In the background, Luke could hear the demon sputter with pain. The pleasure was still eating at the edges of his mind, so he didn’t pay it any attention. He felt the mark flare on his back, a hot presence that reminded him that he belonged to someone else. The demon was retching, as if trying to get every last bit of Luke out of his mouth. Lily had pulled him over to her other side, trying to steer him to the couch. The daze from this attack was lasting longer than Lily’s.

“What did you do, you stupid girl?” he said between retches.

“If you would have waited before assaulting him, I would have told you, Uncle,” Lily spat. “He’s mine.”

Luke felt Lily’s claim run through his body, effectively clearing him of her uncle’s influence. He had a moment to collect his thoughts before the reality of what had just happened hit him. He had just let a demon man pleasure him. Luke had yet to open his eyes, and now he really didn’t want to. He took Lily’s direction and sat down. He took a second to compose himself and decided to slowly open his eyes.

The first thing he saw was the red-hot fire in Lily’s blackened eyes. They were a pit of absolute hatred, and they were aimed squarely at her uncle. The second thing he saw made his stomach clench in knots, and that was the demon man who was currently on all fours on the floor directly in front of Luke. Luke gasped sharply. The man radiated otherworldly beauty. Dark, dusky wings were drawn around his body, the tips of them red as if they had been touched by fire. Warning glinted in the demon’s eyes, which were a deep black that almost contrasted Lily’s. They were darker pits, soulless pits. Where Lily’s eyes brimmed with emotion, this man had none. He had a strong jawline, features that would make most human women melt, and his hair fell in sloppy blonde waves at his forehead. Luke was suddenly all too aware that he was still nude in a room full of pleasure demons. Lily seemed to sense his unease because she stepped in front of him, blocking him from her uncle’s view.

“That much is obvious, niece, his seed feels like acid in my mouth. I will repeat myself, what did you do?” His voice was thick with the demand. Luke felt his power radiate through the room, dwarfing Lily’s. Was this what Lily meant when she said she was weak?

“I don’t know. That’s why I called you here.” She said tersely. “Not to take my priest by force.”

A rich laugh came from the man, “I’m sorry, did you just say priest?”

For the second time that night, Luke heard Lily emit a low, totally inhuman growl. Her uncle stopped laughing. “Are you going to help me, or are you going to mock me?”

“Who’s to say it can’t be a little of both,” the demon looked over to Luke, “Dress him properly, niece.”

Lily bent over and picked up Luke’s discarded pants and turned to hand them to him. Luke took them from her quickly and pulled the welcome fabric up to his hips. He desperately wanted a shirt; he could feel where the demon had marred the skin of his chest. He had a feeling that the mark on his back needed to stay visible, though. Lily motioned for him to stand up.

“Stand up, Priest, and turn around,” She commanded. He heard no trace of his loving demon in her tone. He did as he was told, though a pang of guilt ripped through him. Luke heard the sharp intake of breath as Lily’s wings became visible to her uncle.

“My, my, niece, you do have a tendency to bring dishonor to yourself, don’t you?” He spoke to her as a parent would a disappointing child. Lily glared at him.

“Care to elaborate?” Lily tapped her foot on the floor in annoyance.

Luke hissed as the demon started tracing the mark on his back. Every touch lit a fire on his skin, and he jumped away. It hurt. He could sense Lily’s unease as well. He did long for the days when he didn’t know about demons.

“Why not, this is truly exquisite. I’ve only seen it once myself,” The man tsked, “It didn’t end well for either party, let me assure you, niece, before you get your hopes up.”

“Get on with it, and stop touching him,” Lily snapped.

“Essentially you tied your life force to his with this mark, sweet niece. Now, whether he gets your life span, or you get his remains to be seen. As for your wings, you gifted him with the piece of yourself that you prize the most. I would say that you could get them back with his death, but your lives are tied together now. When he dies, you die, and vice versa,” the man shrugged, “If you thought you were a disgrace to your family before, niece, wait until they find out that you eternally bonded yourself to a human.”

That otherworldly laugh ripped out of the demon’s throat once more. It set Luke’s nerves on edge, the frank inhumanness of it bothered him. Luke tried to reach out for Lily, but she ignored his grasp. He saw the shock written across her face.

“You’re telling me that I had my wings all this time, and I just gave them away?”

“Sweet Shynra, you never lost your wings, we made you think you had. You are such a disgrace to the demon family, that even as a princess you couldn’t make up for it. We were hoping that you would gain power without them, but it seems that you only gained a human. Imagine my disappointment.” He looked at Lily with disdain.

“You would do good to remember exactly who I am, Uncle,” Lily spat. She gathered all the power she could muster, and it swirled with ferocity around the cottage, “My father is your king.”

“Your father is my king, Shynra, but you are an abomination. Your parents should never have let you survive infancy. Your show of power is weak at best. I could cripple you with one sweep of my hand,” the demon looked over to Luke, “As a matter of fact, why don’t we show your little priest what real demon power feels like?”

“If you touch him, I will make sure you don’t live to see morning,” Lily warned. She was unsure of where her threats were coming from. They were baseless, she didn’t have the power to take him down. He would kill them both before she got enough juice to knock him off his feet.

“I’d like to see you try,” Venom coated his words, “But, I find this dynamic intriguing. Which one of you is the stupid one? Who will get killed first?”

“I’m warning you,” Lily growled.

“Go ahead, I’m not afraid of you,” the cool breeze of his power whipped around Luke and Lily, low but immediately threatening. “You both will survive tonight, but only because I will it. Your father, stupid as he may be, would have my head for killing you. Enjoy your mortal lifetime, niece.”

With those words, the demon disappeared from the cottage. Luke let out a breath he hadn’t realized he had been holding. He watched as Lily’s shoulders slumped. He didn’t want to reach out for her, but he couldn’t stop himself. He was behind her in seconds. He wrapped his arms around her and pulled her close. She stiffened in his grasp, but she also didn’t try to pull away. Luke had the distinct feeling that she was trying to cover up her tears. He felt them falling on his arm. He chose to ignore it and rested his chin atop her head.

“I can’t protect you against the other demons, Priest,” she said, “He’s right, they’re too strong for me. You can never go to my realm. They would kill you to get rid of me.”

“Lily,” Luke started, “Why would they want to kill you?”

“Because, Luke,” She took a deep breath, “I’m my father’s only child. Tradition dictates that his kingdom will get passed on to me when he dies, or more likely when or if he’s killed. The demons are only as strong as their ruler. Me being in power would weaken them. They all want my uncle to ascend when my father dies.”

“Isn’t your father immortal?” Luke questioned.

“Even immortality has its limits. We all have a weakness, and you are mine. They will use you to get to me, if only to secure my uncle’s rule.”

“Is that why you’ve stayed here in our world for so long?”

“Put simply, yes. If I stayed with my father, I risk being crushed by a lesser demon who is also much stronger than I am. I stay out of sight here.” Lily wrapped her hand around Luke’s forearm. “What you felt from my uncle is only a fraction of his power. He could have ripped your release from you without touching you, he only wanted to taunt me. You’re in danger with me, Luke. But I will keep you safe.”

“Your touch is so much lighter than his,” Luke said, “Why is that?”

“I can’t answer any more questions tonight, Priest,” Lily said, “Can we just go to bed?”

She turned to look at him, the question pleading in her darkened eyes. Luke sighed. He supposed that his demon princess had been through enough for one night. He nodded. She took advantage and led him into the bedroom that he hadn’t been in yet. There was a large bed in the center. Suddenly, his body was weary with the stress of the last couple days. He walked over to it, mesmerized by the promise of a truly restful sleep.

CHAPTER 6

“You incompetent fool,” The demon bore his blackened eyes to the direction of the frightened man in front of him. He cowered under the derision of the demon, making no move to reply. “How did you let this happen?”

“S…Sorry, sir,” the man stammered. “We tried to take him, to burn him as you said. We weren’t expecting her to show up, though. We couldn’t stop her.”

“How did she get a hold of him in the first place?” The demon whipped his wings around him in frustration. He could sense the man, who was formidable for a human, quivering behind him. It was the only thing in the moment that brought the demon any pleasure, “Do you even know what you’ve done?”

“My apologies,” The man brought his hand up to the crucifix around his neck. “We had him, we were going to do as you said and burn him, but she took him before we could.”

“She’s a broken demon!”

“Yet her power is still stronger than ours, sir.” The man shifted his eyes down, afraid to meet the demon’s gaze.

“Get out of my sight,” the demon spat, dismissing the man unceremoniously.

There was no doubt in his mind that the high priest’s inability to perform his task would cost him dearly.

Luke slept peacefully next to Lily; however, she couldn’t do the same. Her mind was busy. She couldn’t stop thinking about what her uncle said. Could she even trust what he said in the first place? While her family had outcast her, she knew she still had her father’s love. She couldn’t trust her uncle’s word that her father had stripped her of the one thing that demons hold the dearest. Her human had been asleep all night and most of the day. She could sense the fatigue that had settled into his body. Something akin to guilt filled her. She was the reason why he hadn’t been sleeping.

“Sorry for that, Priest.” She mumbled to his sleeping form. He rustled but didn’t wake. Lily sighed. She turned to face him and reached out to put a hand on his shoulder. He was vulnerable right now and something primal within her made her want to protect him. She sensed danger but didn’t know where it was coming from. Her grip tightened on him, and he jumped.

“Hey!” he said sleepily, “What was that for?”

Startled, she yanked her hand off him, “I didn’t mean to wake you.”

“Trying to crush my shoulder will do the trick, demon.” A lazy smile spread across his face. He looked rested.

“Sorry,” she said sheepishly. “Did you sleep well? You’ve been asleep all day, it’s almost time to go back to bed now.”

Luke chuckled, “Yes.”

He locked eyes with hers. Heat rose in her cheeks. Something in his gaze wasn’t savory and he wasn’t trying to hide it. Lily could sense his arousal, but she, for once in her life, wasn’t in the mood. He reached out to her and took a lock of her hair in his hand. She hadn’t bothered to revert back to her human form. The raven black of her locks mingled beautifully with the golden brown of his skin. She smiled, but she backed away from him. Confusion flashed across his face.

“Now, now, Priest, we’ve got things to do that don’t involve getting naked,” she said. Luke let out a loud laugh.

“That’s funny coming from a pleasure demon,” he said. A smile twisted on his lips, and he sat up in the bed.

“I’m so much more than that,” Lily said quietly. One of the downfalls of being Lilith’s daughter was needing to feed on lust. For the first time, she hated that quality about herself. Around this man, she found herself wanting to be human.

“Judging from meeting your uncle, I will agree with that. But your power feels so different,” Luke said, “His isn’t as gentle as yours.”

“It never will be,” Lily closed her eyes, “He’s not an incubus. He’s the Prince of Lust, my father’s brother. He doesn’t need to feed on you to live, he lives to make you want him.”

Lukes’s face contorted with disgust. “So, he just did what he did because he could?”

“Pretty much,” Lily said.

“Did he make me want that, or did I actually want that?” Luke asked. The look on his face made it clear to Lily that he didn’t want the answer. “I mean, I don’t really like men, do I?”

Lily laughed, “Priest, you’ve got so much to learn. Demons don’t ascribe to the human belief of homosexuality. Sexuality is fluid to us. Sex is sex, pleasure is pleasure. Doesn’t matter who you get it from. There is no shame.”

“Blasphemy,” Luke snarled. “Men do not lay with other men.”

“Ahh, but you’re wrong. You certainly did nothing to stop him last night, Priest. In fact, you seemed to enjoy it.” Lily said. She didn’t miss his scowl.

“He made me feel that,” Luke said with conviction. Lily raised her eyebrow with amusement.

“After all this time with me, have you learned nothing?” She said playfully, “Even the most powerful of us can’t create desires, Priest. He may be able to force you to perform for him, but he can’t force you to enjoy it.”

“I’m a man of God, demon.” Luke said with conviction, “I do not enjoy the company of men.”

“Yet you’re bound to a demon,” Lily rose from the bed to her full height. “But really, I’m sick of all the self-righteous bullshit, Priest. I’ve lived more lifetimes than you can even fathom. There has been more harm and destruction done in the name of your God than anything else.”

“Watch yourself,” Luke warned. A gust of power, chilling and threatening, wrapped around him. It was squeezing the air out of his lungs. He brought a hand up to his throat. He was coughing to try to draw air into his lungs, but it felt like it was being ripped from his body before he could take it in. His eyes went wide with fright before the air came slamming back into him. Lily’s eyes had blackened again, warning glowing red in the center.

“You forget who you are talking to, Priest. I will not kill you, but you will not be insolent, either.” Lily quickly changed her power to invoke his lust. She watched as it blossomed across his features and his body hardened with need, “I can do with you what I please, as you have bonded yourself to me. No other demon will be this kind to you.”

“You disgust me,” Luke spat. He drew his knees up to his chest to block her view of his lower half. “To think that you own me. My God will free me from you, demon. I am sure of that.”

Lily laughed, “I don’t see him anywhere. Do you? Truth is that your God is more afraid of me than you think he is. I am Samael’s daughter, Priest. Even being cast out, that incites fear. It commands respect.”

Lily stalked back onto the bed, coming to a stop next to Luke and captured his chin in her hand. She forced him to meet her gaze, “You survived this long because I willed it so, Priest. I will not be disrespected by a mortal man whether you’re bound to me or not. Never forget that.”

Luke’s eyes burned with hatred as he met her gaze. “You will never have my respect or love, demon.”

The latter statement stung Lily a bit, but she brushed it off. “You act as if I need it.” Her grip on him tightened, “I can force your respect, do not be fooled into thinking this bond means I need your love.”

To punctuate her statement, Lily let him go and stood back from the bed. She looked at him pointedly, not sure how he was going to react to her next statement and not really caring. “Kneel, Priest.”

_____________________________________________________________________________________

The command echoed around the room and Luke felt the command take root deep in his body. Lily stood in front of him, her body glowing with power that he hadn’t seen before. As much as he hated the demon at the moment, he had to admit that the glow made her already beautiful features even more attractive. The command tugged at him, and he was trying to refuse it.

“I said kneel,” Lily growled. The red center of her eyes glowed brighter. “Kneel before me, Priest. I am a princess.”

The command became too strong for him to fight. Reluctantly he pulled himself out of the bed and walked over to her. Even though he was taller than her, he felt insignificant next to her. It was as if her body was dominating the room. Luke came to a stop in front of her and dropped to his knees. The humiliation running through his body only stoked his anger.

“I thought you said I had free will,” he said through clenched teeth. Lily smiled at him.

“Oh, you do, Priest. In your heart you want to bow to me. Your desires are very clear to me. But when you accepted my mark, you also gave me your undying consent. I can do whatever I please with you, and you will do whatever pleases me. This arrangement can either be pleasant for the both of us, or you can fight me. It’s your choice.”

Lily waved her hand and the weight of her command left him. Her eyes had returned to their previous icy blue. Luke didn’t bother to move from his knees. He wasn’t sure if he could move. His mind replayed over the events of the previous night. Lily said that her uncle was a prince of Hell. Did that mean there was more than one? The words out of that demon’s mouth had chilled him. The man had mentioned that their lifespans were linked. If one of them died, so did the other. Luke hung his head. How had he strayed so far?

“I don’t want to make your life difficult or hard, Priest. But you have a target on your back now. You can’t afford to fight me if you want to live.” Lily had dropped to her knees in front of him. The act startled him, but he supposed it didn’t surprise him. Until now, she had never asserted her authority over him.

“What if I don’t want to live this way?” he asked quietly. Lily cupped his face in her hands gently. He met her eyes and saw nothing but tenderness in them.

“I don’t want to hurt you, Luke. I want the opposite. I promised you a life of comfort. One of luxury, and I intend to keep that promise. You will have everything you’ve ever wanted and more. But in order for us to make it through this, you must work with me and not against me.” She stroked his cheeks lightly. “I don’t want to lord my power over you. I will in order to protect you.”

“I had everything I wanted before you showed up,” a tear rolled down his face as he remembered the life he had, “You took all that from me.”

Lily shook her head slowly, “I have a feeling that that isn’t true. That mark on your back is special. I’m willing to bet that someone knew you were worthy of it long before we did. If I hadn’t shown up, I’m not sure someone worse than I wouldn’t have.”

“How do we find that out?” he asked weakly.

“We need my father.” Lily said. He didn’t miss the edge in her voice.

“How do we summon the…devil?” he asked. Lily chuckled.

“My father isn’t the devil, he’s the King.” Lily said, “And we don’t. I can’t communicate between realms. But we can see if he is in this one.”

“How do we do that? I thought he cast you out of your family. Why would you seek him out? And besides that, what’s the difference between Devil and King?”

“So many questions! He has a house in this realm. He visits sometimes. And as for the family drama, I may be a cast out, but he did that because other demons saw my weakness and wanted to kill me. The nuances of your last question would take hours to explain, and we don’t have that kind of time.”

Luke sighed. Much to his dismay, the demon’s influence over him was still evident. His erection was straining at his pants. He didn’t feel the lust in his veins, but his body was reacting to hers. While she didn’t look much different in her demon form, he wasn’t sure if her body under the clothing was the same. He had kept his hands in front of his arousal. He didn’t have the urge to play with it.

“What do we need to do?” He rose from the ground.

“Well first you need to make yourself decent. Then we need to get to my father’s.”

The shift in the temperature was subtle, but Lily caught it almost immediately. Her back stiffened, but she was careful not to let Luke see her apprehension. She could feel her uncle’s presence in the cottage, yet she had no idea why he would be back. She looked down at Luke and saw him cowering at her feet. He knew. Lily suddenly felt the urge to protect him at the expense of herself. Was this the danger she had felt earlier? Surely her uncle wouldn’t harm either of them. It would mean the death of them both.

“Shynra, come out to play,” her uncle’s melodic voice bellowed throughout the cottage. Lily bristled at his use of her name. She had become accustomed to hearing ‘Lily’ at her Priest’s mouth.

“Stay here,” Lily said to Luke. He looked up at her with fear in his eyes. She didn’t blame him. She was scared, her power was no match for the famed Prince of Lust.

Lily walked out of the room towards her uncle’s voice. He stood in the common area of the cottage, his body taking up most of the space. His wings were spread wide around him, the span brushing the walls. A playful grin covered his face, though he did look shocked.

“Now, Shynra, where’s that lovely priest of yours?” he inquired.

“Asmodeus,” she said curtly. “What my priest is doing is no concern of yours.”

“No need to be greedy, niece. He did enjoy my touch so,” Asmodeus smiled. “Why would you want to deny him that pleasure again?”

“Because he is mine to do with what I see fit,” Lily said, “And I do not see that you are fit for him.”

The air around them grew stifling. Few demons possessed the power that her uncle did. He could bend demons to his will. She felt his power starting to snake around her mind. He could do with her whatever he wanted, but she would be damned if he touched Luke again. Crippling pain arced through her body. It threatened to bring her to her knees, but she stood her ground. Asmodeus chuckled with satisfaction.

“If you won’t let me have him, I’ll draw him out here with your pain,” he said passively.

The pain ripped a tortured scream from her lips. Her knees were starting to buckle under the pressure. It felt like he was ripping her apart from the inside out. But to keep her Priest safe, she would endure anything. She heard Luke scrambling inside the room, and she sent out a silent plea for him to stay inside. Something inside her knew that was futile yet she did it anyway.

“He remembers the way my mouth felt around him, Shynra. He will want to come back for more. It doesn’t matter how depraved his simple little mind thinks it was.” Asmodeus looked in the direction of the room Lily walked out of. The sound of the priest fumbling with the doorknob was deafening even over Lily’s cries of pain. “Or he wants to protect you, whichever gets him out here quicker.”

“You sick fuck,” Lily said through clenched teeth.

“You have spent far too much time in the human world, niece.” Her uncle chuckled as the door to the bedroom burst open. Lily looked over to see her Priest walk out. His eyes were wildly trying to locate her, and as they settled on her, they deepened with anger.

“Go back inside, Priest,” Lily begged.

“No, No, please come out to play,” Asmodeus said. The pain receded from Lily’s body as her uncle focused his attention on her lover. “We had such a wonderful time last we met.”

Luke walked toward Lily and circled her with his arms when he reached her. She could feel the possessiveness in his grasp. He may hate her, but he knew she only had his best interests at heart. She melted into his chest and allowed him to comfort her. For some reason, this human made her feel strong.

“What’s wrong, Priest, do you not want to play today?” Asmodeus was leading him, “I’ll make you.”

“I’m not a toy,” Luke said defiantly.

Asmodeus scoffed, “You’re right. You are a human, you don’t deserve the title of toy, much less the title that my niece has bestowed upon you.”

Lily watched in horror as her uncle stalked towards them, his eyes flaring with heat, and it was all directed at Luke. Dread settled in her stomach. She couldn’t protect Luke from whatever was about to happen, and that made her feel helpless. With a flick of his wrist, Asmodeus wrenched them apart. Lily went flying across the room. She slammed into the wall with a sickening thud. Luke remained where he was, but he was in her uncle’s grasp. She attempted to call out to Luke, but she couldn’t talk. Her uncle had stolen her ability to move.

Luke was shivering under his touch. He was still shirtless. Asmodeus reached around Luke’s back and stroked the outline of his mark. Lily’s power flared in anger. Her uncle laughed in response.

“We know you’re not happy, niece. Sit back and shut up, there is nothing you can do to stop me.” The demon trailed his hand down Luke’s body, appreciating the hard set of the Priest’s musculature. He could take the man’s lust if he wanted to. He could take everything the priest had to offer if he wanted to. But torturing his niece was more satisfying. “What does the mouth of a priest taste like, I wonder?”

Luke tensed at the question. The demon brought his mouth close to Luke’s and stopped. He could smell the need rolling off the Priest. Asmodeus smiled as he brushed his lips across Luke’s. “I could give you everything you ever hoped for and more, Priest. I can tell you want it.”

Asmodeus grasped Luke’s hips and drew him close. He chuckled as he felt the Priest’s excitement against his leg. Asmodeus tickled the skin at Luke’s hips. Luke sucked in a deep breath. Their lips were still only centimeters apart. The demon’s wings circled them both as Asmodeus pressed himself against Luke. In an instant, he claimed Luke’s mouth as his own. The Priest gave in easily, letting Asmodeus explore his mouth. Though he was trying not to give in to his curiosity, Luke couldn’t help but reciprocate. He felt stunningly empty when the demon pulled back.

“You like me more than you care to admit, human. Your notions of sexuality intrigue me. Tell me, does this feel wrong to you?” Asmodeus took his kisses to Luke’s neck. Luke groaned in response. “Do you want to know what a demon cock feels like?”

Lily watched as Luke snapped to attention and tried to break free of her uncle. The Prince of Lust had just pushed her little priest too far. Luke fought, albeit futilely, to get away from the other man.

“Oh, calm down, I’m not going to take you if you don’t want it. That won’t inspire jealousy, now, will it?” Her uncle’s voice filled the space once again, calming Luke. He was trapped in the demon’s wings. Asmodeus moved close to him again, pressing his own arousal against Luke’s leg. “But tell me you don’t want this in your hands, Priest. Tell me you’re not curious.”

Asmodeus punctuated his point by palming Luke. “Your cock does feel so nice in my hands, Priest.”

“Stop, please,” Luke pleaded. His plea was weak. There was no magic surrounding him. His reaction was his own, he knew he wanted this demon. His eyes flicked to Lily. Her body was limp against the wall, but her eyes. He had never seen her eyes so intensely focused and full of hate. The mark on his back was burning with her disapproval. But still, he felt his hand drifting towards the demon. The bulge against his leg was mesmerizing, and it was no less so as he took it into his palm.

“There you go,” the demon purred, “That’s more like it.”

The demon’s pants disappeared. Asmodeus gasped as Luke’s hand made contact with his bare cock. The transition shocked Luke, but he didn’t let go. Instead, much to his surprise, he began to stroke. A moan teased out of the demon and Asmodeus stepped back out of Luke’s reach.

“Now, now, I may think you’re interesting, but you don’t get to bring my release, human.” Asmodeus tsked. “I get to bring yours.”

Lily glowered at her uncle from the other side of the room. Luke realized a second later that he was stark naked next to the demon. Asmodeus withdrew his wings and Lily’s gaze fell to Luke’s body. Heat rose in her eyes, lust filled this time.

“I knew you would like it, niece. Watch as I claim him,” the demon’s hands slipped to grasp Luke’s ass. “Or parts of him that you have neglected, rather.”

Luke wanted to fight him off, but instead he fell into Asmodeus’ touch. Something about the demon was hypnotizing. The demon caressed his ass softly while he kissed Luke’s neck. Luke could feel the heat of Lily’s rage burning at his back. He couldn’t tell if it was directed at her uncle or at him. He figured it could be both. Hesitantly, Luke reached forward and pulled the demon closer to him. His body felt so alive in that moment, every inch of his skin was lit with a sensation he couldn’t describe.

Asmodeus had continued his trek down, softly turning Luke’s body around. Luke followed the direction. The demon kissed down the small of Luke’s back to the swell of his ass. That made Luke freeze. What the demon was doing became real. Asmodeus gently rubbed Luke’s hips, trying to get him to relax.

“Relax, I’m just enjoying myself. I’m not going to do any more than you will allow… If you’re good.” Asmodeus slapped his ass playfully, “Now bend over.”

Luke shook his head. “No. No I don’t want to.”

“I just want to look,” Asmodeus sighed, “Your form is exquisite.”

Luke swallowed loudly. His cock throbbed with need. He wanted to take it in his hands, but he had the feeling that it wouldn’t go over well. The demon must have sensed his feelings because at that moment, Asmodeus reached around Luke’s body and grasped him firmly. A gasp slid out of Luke’s mouth. The demon stroked him lazily.

“Be a good little priest and I’ll give you more,” he teased, “Bend over for me, you might like it.”

Reluctantly, Luke did as he was told. He bent over slowly. He felt oddly exposed. His bare ass was open wide to the demon kneeling behind him. His hand slid off Luke’s cock and wandered back to Luke’s ass. Asmodeus kneaded his cheeks in his hands. Luke had his upper half braced on the couch and he was grateful for the support. The demon let his fingers roam. Luke clenched as they found the bud of his ass. Asmodeus traced the entrance slowly, waiting for Luke to relax.

“I can wait all night.” the demon purred, “Open yourself to me.”

Luke reached for his cock absently. A ragged moan came from deep in his throat as he started stroking. His body relaxed almost instantly. The demon made a noise of pleasure. Asmodeus made no move to penetrate Luke, he just continued circling. Soon his mouth joined his finger. Luke gasped in surprise. Did this actually feel good? There was no way! He stroked his cock harder, the sensations that the demon was providing coupled with his own motions were overtaking his body. The demon reached around his body and took hold of his cock, forcing his hand away.

Luke let his arm fall back to the couch as the demon pleasured him in a way that he never thought would happen. His back was burning hot with Lily’s rage… tinged with jealousy? But he supposed that had been Asmodeus’ plan all along, hadn’t it? For some reason, Lily’s displeasure just empowered him to let the demon finish his work. Something about defying her made him feel strong and in control of his life again. Luke’s back arched as the demon started stroking him faster. Asmodeus’ tongue flicked artfully around the hole that, in Luke’s opinion, should never be touched this way. Luke felt his orgasm building low. The demon must have sensed that Luke’s guard was down, because he took that moment to slide a finger inside Luke. He quickly hit a spot inside him that lit Luke’s body in a fire of pleasure.

“Oh GOD,” the orgasm ripped through Luke like an arrow. His back arched and he called out wordlessly. Asmodeus pumped him as Luke’s seed spilled over the demon’s hands. After the waves of pleasure passed, Luke collapsed against the couch on his knees, thoroughly happy that the support was in front of him.

“God had nothing to do with that, Priest,” Asmodeus said. Luke paid him no mind. The demon was trying to rile him. The demon pressed his naked body against Luke’s and enveloped him with his wings. He leaned his head over Luke’s shoulder and whispered in his ear, “Now it’s time to meet your worst nightmare.”

Lily tried to move, in vain, when she saw Luke disappear in a flash of light. It felt like her heart was being ripped from her chest, the pain was so acute. No matter what she did to try to free herself, she couldn’t make a sound, and she couldn’t move. As the light receded, she saw her uncle’s form, now fully clothed, standing in front of her. He turned to her slowly, with a smug look on his face.

“You’ll be lucky if you ever lay eyes on him again, Shynra.” The melodic tone in his voice was gone. “Your priest is going somewhere that will always keep his…senses…heightened.”

Lily bucked against the invisible restraints. Asmodeus stalked over to her. The smile on his face was unnerving. Slowly, he dropped to his knees in front of her. “Try to find him, niece, and you’ll know what it feels like to die.”

All at once, the invisible restraints dropped, and her uncle disappeared. As Lily found her voice, she let out a piercing scream that was filled with defeat. Her priest was probably lost to her, and now her fate, and Luke’s, laid in the hands of an uncle who had always despised her.

Luke felt unadulterated rage and sadness flow through him. He wasn’t sure if those were Lily’s emotions, his own, or a mix of both. The last thing he remembered was being wrapped by Asmodeus’ wings, and then he woke up in this green paradise. It was warm and balmy, a huge contrast to where he had just come from. Something about it was distinctly inhuman, though. Where was he and what had he gotten himself into by submitting to the demon?
