Author’s Notes: If you feel this is worth publishing as a daily article, please do. I have a more theistic and communal concept of Satanism even as I believe we should be to pursue self-empowerment, personal godhood, and, as Crowley advocated, “the true will.” If you choose to publish the following, please put my email address at the top of the posting.

The True Will

We do not kneel. When we hail Satan, his Demons, or any other God or spirit whose power challenges the greedy god, we petition that they stand in front of us as equals. It is opposed to Christ demanding the dominant position, saying, “Get behind me, Satan!”

For we are as Gods. The Divine might offer a spiritual hand to aid us in manifestation, and we, in exchange, offer the spiritual beings a physical hand to leave a mark on this material world. The potential of our Divine spark tends to be regarded well by those spirits who suit us. The spirits are like people, with their own personal preferences.

They may judge us unworthy of a relationship or assistance for the same reasons any self-respecting person would, not because they want to be worshipped. Excessive disrespect or foolishness on our part may cause them to refuse our summons. Ours is never to lead with obsequiousness or self-debasement, for that makes the Satanist seem unworthy of dealing with from the start. A theistic Satanist should foster relationships of mutual respect with the spirits that suit us, and foster bonds according to our nature with our Satanic peers.

Power is a curious thing, even between a person of a submissive nature and a person of a dominant nature. There is equity in the unity of opposites. It is a similar principle in alliances between beings of spirit and beings of flesh as it is in alliances between dominant people and submissive people. For there is yin in Yang and Yang in yin. In stark isolation, we are limited and incomplete. In fellowship, our wisdom becomes multiplicative. Alone, we are a God; together, we are a Pantheon.
