Lilith, Demonic Goddess Of Transformation

Demonic goddess of transformation, dark wisdom, mysteries, transformational love, challenges, magick, death and rebirth, spiritual initiation, and the night.

Lilith is one of the most ancient goddesses, and is the twinflame of Lucifer, the First Light in the universe. She is incomprehensibly powerful and complex, and has existed for millions of years, continuously evolving. Overall, Lilith is the Queen Mother of Hell and the bringer of the luminous dark of terrible understanding.

This is what Illumination is, and is a role she shares with her husband. Lilith is the Queen of Night; the Dark Mother who whispers from the shadows and guides us through the Path of Thorns. Those who wish to follow her walk this very path, seeking to become as the perfect crimson rose, blooming in the eternal Night.

History: In the Zohar legend (taken from Mesopotamian beliefs), Lilith has more than one mythical origin: the commonly known in which she was the first human who turned into a demon, and the other where she and Samael began as one being before splitting in two. The latter is closest to the story she shared with me. She tells how Lucifer, the first-born god, had sacrificed half of his essence in order to have a twinflame.

From this sacrifice, the Queen of Heaven manifested Lilith from her divine light. All the gods who saw her were in awe. Lucifer and Lilith fell deeply in love and married, there is no love that can match theirs as it flows through all creation. She is a duplicate of his divine essence (as Lucifer is connected to the Source) and shares in his unmatched beauty, wisdom, and desire to evolve.

Lilith was born as a goddess of unequaled beauty and splendour, as the small form as the Queen of Heaven. Lilith was known as the Queen of Queens when she lived in the heavens with Lucifer, and had the role of guiding many different beings through spiritual evolution. Together with Lucifer, they have had many children whom are all beautiful and benevolent. Despite what the Zohar began saying, Lilith does not actually harm children and instead seeks to protect them.

This was a misconception due to the night-demoness, Lilitu (part of the Mesopotamian “Lilin” group of Lilitu, Ardat Lili, and Lilu) being merged with the goddess Lamashtu. Lilith and Lilitu are slightly connected in essence, but Lilitu only has a small fragment of Lilith’s energy. She is one of Lilith’s minor aspects (an independent being who was born from a shard of Lilith’s energy), and who acts as the Madam of the Succubi.

Lilith however is not a succubus, especially since she values romance and the devotion to her beloved. Overall, Lilith loves children and adores their innocence and potential. Yet she will leave them to fend mainly for themselves when they are old enough, so they can become strong and independent. This is the same as how she trains her followers, as she will have them fight for what they need while guiding them.

In ancient times, Lilith lived with Lucifer in their heavenly kingdom for hundreds of millions of years before the Usurper, Jehovah, took over the Earth and cast aside the other gods. Jehovah was an Aeonic deity (a creator god) who sought to claim the Throne of the Universe as his own in order to gain more power, and eventually bring his plans to the Earth. Lucifer began a rebellion against him with Lilith and many other gods, but all was in vain.

After a traumatic war, their kingdom was destroyed by Jehovah, who then cast them into the nightmarish land of Hell. The gods who were banished to Hell had their essences change to become more dark and intense (which is why they developed dark wings and horns). Now as demons, Jehovah taught his human followers that these ancient gods were evil tempters and had them become known as their opposites (Lilith as infertility and murder when she is loving and motherly, Lucifer as lies when he is truth, Mammon as greed when he is generosity, Beelzebub as gluttony when he is health, etc).

In Hell, Lucifer and Lilith are the High King and High Queen of their kingdom where they live in a desert wasteland of eternal twilight. There are some oases and flower gardens here, surrounding the dark castle where they live. There are grotesque scenes of corrupt souls being tortured in the distance and also an isle where Lilith tortures all the people (especially the monks) who lusted after her, other demons, or human children.

Despite what many believe about Lilith, she hates being sexualized and does not represent loveless lust. She values sex that comes with love and respect, of being appreciated and uniting with a loved one. She enjoys the pleasure of sexuality and unity,. Lilith despises people who lust after her and disrespect her, especially since she is married, so she will curse or even kill those who do this to her.

Element: Fire, Akasha, Air, Unity, and Void

Colours: Black and Crimson (secondary)

Sacred Number: 7

Day of Week: Friday, Monday

Appearance: Lilith is a hauntingly beautiful and slender woman with very long, wavy black hair, black-red eyes, fair skin, regal but gentle facial features, elegant black horns, and large black feathered wings. She always wears long black dresses with long, elegant sleeves. The style is most similar to romantic gothic fashion, and is very regal. Her voice is very soothing and calm, but radiates power.  In her formless form, Lilith is like an indescribable black-light, that shines with the brightness of a dark star. It shifts in complexity and beauty, similar to Lucifer’s formless form.

Personality: Lilith is dark, enigmatic, serious, elegant, withdrawn, eerie, and unfathomable in her personality. She is often cryptic and tends to teach through riddles, making it so that the Seeker must ponder and discover lessons instead of simply having answers handed to them. She usually prefers to be loved and feared equally, and never becomes laid-back with any of her followers. Although, with certain people, she may choose to show some of her motherly side.

She is the Dark Mother who initiates us on the Path of Night, of discovering the truth within the darkness and embracing the flower of Black Flame. She can often be ominous and serious, full of dark majesty. Her wisdom was gained through mastering immense pain and loss, and she seeks to show others how to discover their true selves by following a disciplined spiritual path, where we find peace in the silence and the night.

She teaches us that we must “die” to be Reborn, for our current self must be stripped away in order for us to evolve. She initiates her devotees into her Dark Garden, where they learn that in order to gain true happiness, beauty, and wisdom, they must suffer first and overcome it. That is why all roses draw blood, for you must make sacrifices in order to gain something truly rewarding.

When angered, Lilith becomes very cold and terrifying, which tends to happen when she is severely insulted by someone, who does this purposefully. During these times, she appears with deathly pale skin, red eyes with streaks of blood, and claws that aresix foot in length, with which she lashes out at these people to tear apart their bodies.

Her curses are also fearful and very powerful. Lilith also stands to uphold free-will, so any form of cruelty or oppression is never tolerated by her. Those who are tormented by the treacherous and cruel can call upon Lilith for her vengeance. Lilith also seeks to empower both men and women equally; she cares not for whether you are male or female, she only values the strength of your spirit and your undying desire for knowledge. These things are what make you worthwhile.

Her sacred animal is the snake, especially the black python. This is because it is the closest creature to her personality, and is also a symbol of primordial knowledge, wisdom, silence, and transformation. Most often, Lilith’s energy can either feel like red wine enshrouded by the night, or the deepest depths of the voids of space.

Lilith reigns over the times of shadow and the unknown, and when the world is exposed to the infinite depths of space. The night is a place of challenges, for the darkness tests all. Through our challenges and overcoming what we fear, we can become further empowered, as Lilith’s followers seek to continuously surpass themselves.

She is the mistress of all hidden things and spiritual abilities, yet those who seek such things must prove their worth. There is much wisdom to be learned in the dark places, where the light cannot bring its blinding rays or any sense of security. The Seeker must be alone, facing their own self as they traverse the unfamiliar terrain.

Her enn (for meditation or devotion): Renich Viasa Avage Lilith Lirach
