Internet Corruption

Jackson Graham was a devout fundamentalist Christian his entire life who couldn’t wait for Jesus to return in the long overdue rapture and take him and his fellow believers to heaven for eternity. Jackson strictly raised his young son, Liam, in the faith, taking him to the word of God Christian church every Sunday morning, and assigning him Bible passages to read every night before bed. At age eight, Liam was such a good young Christian who made his father proud.

One night, however, Jackson came to his son’s bedroom and found him surfing the Internet on his laptop rather than reading his assigned Bible passage. Before the father could see what Liam was looking at, the young man closed his PC, apologized to his dad, picked up his Bible and began studying his assigned passage. Though a bit irked, Jackson left the room without saying anything.

Soon however, he began noticing that his son, on a regular basis, was surfing the ‘Net rather than reading his Bible. But every time Jackson looked over Liam’s shoulder, the young man was perusing a Christian site. Still, Jackson began to have an uneasy feeling.

One night, he silently snuck up behind his son and was horrified to see what his innocent, naïve young son had really been looking at all those months: an Instagram page belonging to someone named SatanWorshipper.

It was filled with hundreds of evil, sinful, blasphemous posts depicting, among other atrocities, inverted crosses, the number of the beast “666” and pentagrams, as well as horrible hashtags such as #fuckjesus and #satanisgod. Jackson nearly had a heart attack. Panicked, he picked up the PC, threw it against the wall, grabbed his son by the arm and began scolding him.

“That is the work of the Devil, Liam!” he screamed, “Satan is trying to corrupt you with his demons and turn you away from Jesus!

“Promise me you will never, ever look at those evil websites again!” Jackson yelled.

“Yes Dad,” Liam replied. “I’m sorry. I’ll never look at those again. I promise.”

Liam then picked up his Bible and began reading his assigned passage again. Jackson left the room, but was deeply disturbed. And he had every right to be. Using the internet for His evil ends, Satan had indeed planted the seed of corruption in childlike, innocent, naïve Liam, and there was no going back. As Liam grew up, he began to lose his interest in Jesus, and eventually stopped reading the Bible and going to church altogether.

“I don’t believe that shit anymore,” the then-teenager told his father one night, prompting Jackson to slap him – hard – in the face.

“Fuck you,” Liam replied, ripping open his shirt to reveal a large inverted crucifix and a black 666 tattoo across his chest.

“You’re going to Hell,” a horrified Jackson responded, “Is that what you want?”

“Fuck yeah,” Liam said, “That’s where all my friends are.

“I’m going to worship the real God, Satan, for eternity.”

“Get out,” Jackson said, “Get out now!”

Liam did just that, slamming the front door behind him, laughing demonically. Jackson broke down in tears and began praying on his knees.

“Lord, where did I go wrong?” he said, “Why are you doing this to me? Liam used to be such a good boy who loved Jesus with all his heart before looking at that damn evil website. Why did you let Satan take him from me?” Jackson pleaded.

God, of course, gave him no answer. God remained silent as always. Father and son never saw each other again. Jackson became a broken man. He lost his faith, began drinking heavily and then one day, put the barrel of his handgun in his mouth and pulled the trigger.

Liam didn’t care when he got the news. He had a new father, the dark lord, who he loved much more than he ever loved that fucking Christian Jackson. Liam lived out his days serving and worshipping Satan, helping to spread His message of unbridled lust and sin and hatred of Jesus Christ. And when Liam passed, he joined his dark father in Hell for eternity, just as Jackson had predicted. But instead of feeling tormented, Liam was joyful.And to think that the corruption of Liam’s soul, as well as countless others, is all due to Lord Satan’s depraved undermining of the internet to achieve his evil ends.
