Idealism
You Christians always want to be judged by some ideal of how you should behave, not for what you actually do. Jesus may have truly been the wisest, holiest man who ever lived, but even if it were so, it wouldn’t let you off the hook for what you’ve done in his name.
If anything, the contrast between Jesus and his fan club just makes the latter’s behavior all the more egregious. Jesus himself would disown you were he alive today. That Christians still exist at all — that your churches haven’t all been struck by lightning or swallowed by fissures opening up in the earth underneath them; that you yourselves haven’t been taken out by biblical plagues, but are allowed to drag your god’s name through the filth every day — is the strongest argument for God’s nonexistence.
Surely, if the almighty could be provoked to anger, he would have wiped Christians from the face of the earth long ago.
