Happy Halloween from Circlet Press

Long time, long time since we’ve written, my friend. I know. It’s been… a little over a year? We’ve been in restructuring mode as by January 1 2020 Circlet Press will officially be part of Riverdale Avenue Books. Right now, though, the main thing we wanted to share with you was our annual Halloween erotic microfiction bonanza is going on~!

Every day leading up to Halloween we have a delectable, sometimes scary, sometimes creepy, sometimes just dark… Halloween-themed erotic story. A few have been posted already and I’ll put their links below, but check back on the website every day to catch the latest! Jennifer Williams has been editing these for the past few years and she’s done it again with a lovely selection. Links to the four stories that have appeared so far at the bottom of the newsletter for your reading enjoyment.

Meanwhile, to catch you up on the three of publications we’ve had out during this mostly fallow year:

Spanning eras and universes, these stories span the gamut of sexuality and genre. A woman with a broken time machine haunts a big box store looking for a mechanic who can get her out of therewhen. An angel trolls the depths of a dark netherworld where only a demon can ease his affliction. Steampunk pasts, space operatic futures, and mysterious magical nows co-exist in This World Between. And in every story, the passionate meetings that occur are expressed in gloriously carnal detail, leaving the characters forever changed.

Once upon a time, in a dungeon far, far away, the kinkiest writers in the land were summoned to pervert beloved fairy tales with dominance, submission, bondage, and surrender. In these stories twisted princesses take control of their submissive princes, witches play with power exchange, and fairies come to visit our dungeons. Erotic retellings of fairy tales for adults have been popular for decades; in Leather Ever After they get decidedly kinky twists.

No Safewords 2: Stories of the Marketplace

edited by Laura Antoniou

buy ebook for $6.99
buy print book for $16.99Laura Antoniou’s consensual world of owners and slaves known as The Marketplace has been thrilling readers of BDSM fiction for over 25 years. In that time she has invited other authors to come “play in her sandbox” more than once. In this second anthology of “fanfiction” set in The Marketplace, 18 stories explore both familiar favorites and brand new characters, and delve into many of the themes that run through the series including service, sadomasochism, and the need to belong.

The authors range from award-winning novelists to fanfic veterans to bright-eyed new folks and their stories here run the gamut of genres including crime fiction, paranormal, and romance. Fans of erotic fiction may recognize the names of Elizabeth Schechter, LN Bey, Erzabet Bishop, and Soulhuntre.  Karen Taylor, an erotica writer and also Laura’s wife, contributes an introduction to the volume, as well.

No Safewords 2 is the first Circlet title to be released via Riverdale Avenue Books so the links above will take you to their website.

HALLOWEEN MICROFICTIONS

“In the Quick”

by Eric Del Carlo

My eyes snap open to a midnight room as if a gunshot had sounded alongside my head on the soaked pillow. I am knotted muscle and cable-taut tendons. Crackles of energy dance invisibly on my bare skin. I am in the Quick; and I have dosed myself to keep me insensate; but I am nonetheless awake now in the night.

“New Moon Night”

by AT Lander

When Marni crawled into bed, Rick hissed at the chill she brought with her. It was cold, and late, well past midnight in the Vermont winter.

“Corn Silk”

by Julie Behrens

The corn was overdue to come down. The ears hung heavy on their stalks, near bursting their husks with yellow-sweet chin-running juice, their gold-silk tassels turned brown. Soon, if I could get it done, that field would be stubble, like a man’s morning beard, and you could see all the way to the creek way far back and visible now only by the trees that marked it, to the road beyond the big house, and cows on either side. A big piece of land for a woman to manage alone. It was my first autumn on the farm since the rest of my family had died, and I was dangerously late in my work.

But I was glad the stalks had been left to grow high as I ran into the corn that night, the footsteps of large men in boots stomping after me like an oncoming train. I ran, because they had come to kill me, and the corn was the best refuge I had.

“At the Burying Point”

by Melissa Hogle

He slipped through the Salem masses, letting their ebb and flow carry him across the center of celebration. Salty ocean and sticky-sweet caramel wafted above the countless costumed bodies. Street performers breathed fire while preachers fervently warned of the Devil. Samuel passed kiosks, headed down side streets. All he sensed was her and the closer he got, the more intense her presence became.
