Charging The Black Flame
What does the Black Flame represent?
The Black Flame represents antinomian consciousness, that being the power of the magician to reject the rules given to them by others in favor of divine, or Infernal, rule. It is associated with figures like Lucifer, Azazel and Satan, being figures associated with spirituality, adversarial Archetypes and purification.
The Black Flame and the Dragon’s Mind
The Black Flame, when cultivated, can be used to represent the Dragon’s Mind, that being the adamantine Mind that declares: I Am. It is without nature or label; it simply is. It declares: “I am the source of all religion” and places the magician at the center of their personal cosmos.
Charging the Black Flame
Imagine, above you, a pure white light. This represents the principle of the HGA and the Gd Principle. This is the inner divinity that states: “I Am”. Imagine, below you, a pure dark light. This represents the Abyss of the Dragon, representative of the Stauros and the material world. This is the manifest “I Am”, though cloaked in darkness.
From these two points, draw Light into the Black Flame, which is situated in the solar plexus. The White Fire from Above is drawn through the head, representing Akephalos and Gnosis. From below, the Abyss is drawn through the genitals, indicating the animating energy that permeates the world. These two meet, invigorating the Black Flame. It devours and transforms these two energies into Adamantine Consciousness. Rest.
