Divination

Scrying, is an ancient practice of divination, utilizes different mediums to gain insight and connect with the spiritual realm. While many people rely on commercially available scrying tools like crystal balls, mirrors, or water bowls, creating my own allowed me to personalize and make a stronger connection. I have shared a few times about the “witch runes” I made from coral I made from pieces I picked up from the beach. This however differs as I will share how to craft a Black Mirror for a deeper connection and spirituality.

Understanding Scrying

Before diving into the creation of the mirror, it’s important to understand what scrying is. Scrying involves gazing into a reflective surface or medium in order to receive visual cues, symbols, or messages from the subconscious mind, spiritual guides or my favorite the demonic. Common scrying mediums include the following:

• Water: Often used for its reflective properties and fluid nature. On a clear Full Moon, no wind a tidal pool makes an excellent source.
• Crystal Balls: Typically made from glass or crystal, they are said to amplify psychic abilities.
• Smoke: The swirling nature of smoke can create ethereal images.
• Mirrors: Black mirrors are particularly popular for their ability to evoke visions.
• The key to effective scrying is mindfulness and openness. By creating your own tools, you’ll not only personalize your practice but also enhance your connection to the energy of the materials you choose.

So let’s get into crafting the new window into a whole new world where the limitations of society and religion simply does not exist.

Black Mirror

You will need to find a flat piece of glass, some black paint or spray paint and for me I prefer a frame. Take a flat piece of glass and securely place it on a surface. Apply black paint or spray paint on one side until it is completely opaque. If desired, create or purchase a frame that suits your taste.

I like to find older antique ones at the thrift store. Before using your black mirror, consider cleansing it with saltwater or sage smoke to remove any lingering energies. when ready to use, place the mirror at eye level in a dimly lit area and gaze into it, allowing images to arise organically. I discovered listening to ebb chants, smelling the dragon blood incense and repeating the name Lilith, with her Sigils help me see into her world.
