Understanding The Dark Side
It all seems so Satanic when the “Dark side” is no more than one being and feeling free to explore, experience and enjoy walking out into or reaching out into the unknown especially when it comes to things sensual, sexual and spiritual. One can say it’s similar to Stanley’s search for Livingston in the nineteenth century when the African continent, largely unexplored was called “Darkest Africa”.
We are free to explore the darkest or unknown reaches of our mind and imagination as well as explore and engage with others new sensual and other events and experiences as we wish and will. Why, it’s all seen by so many as satanic is because it all has to do with desires.
An interesting train of thought that I will accept because it’s true. What surprises many or what they want you to believe is that it’s all to be seen as abnormal when actually it’s all so arousing and that arousing is intensified because we say it’s abnormal when it isn’t.
For example, sex is something that happens and lust and desire are common occurrences. Something is exciting about the “Dark” and unknown — whether we walk into it or run from it, similar to being hit on where you size up the guy if you’re interested and wonder what he’s like. The event may be intensified if the guy hitting on you is black because of, well, all the myths.
Another is what I will call that little black dress many of us have (and some don’t but wish or wonder what it would be like to have one) which, when we wear it, sends that message — a different way to consider the unknown to be explored.
What I am sharing is that too often the darkness is seen as something to be feared when, in fact, it’s simply the unknown which needs to be explored — or a challenge that we see before us — where we decide how we will respond. The left-hand path is the term we use to describe that journey into the unknown, like engaging in casual sex even, where the experience may or may not be the whizbang event you’re wanting.
Why this article?
I found myself asking the question for several reasons, one being I read another of those Christian-authored articles where Satan is going to rule the world and then there was one of those Robin Hood movies the kids were watching where there is the purported priest who follows Satan complete with witch with all manner of powers and an upside-down cross, all back in a period where none of what is seen in the scene occurred.
It’s all in the script, and besides, even if the Wizard of Oz, says witches can perform all that black and other magic, the truth is one can’t because, well, witchery is a craft and is learned and, as yet, I haven’t seen it happen and I certainly haven’t learned how to do so.
What it is, for the most part, is we fear the unknown and often attribute powers to the darkness that isn’t there when let me put it this way, despite all the issues underlying why a woman engages in adultery, it is just sex, something we just can’t believe because there just has to be more because the activity is forbidden.
Evil sex is not only a turn on it gives me reason to praise Satan.
