Stumbling in the Dark
I have been avidly watching “Mr Robot” on Netflix … so far I am up to Season 2 (of 4 Seasons) … I can tell you that it is so well written, it is amazing … In S2E3, our protagonist Elliot, is in a church group talking about god and religion … it is very on point to how I have seen things (since I was a child) …
Then there is also an amazing conversation where Elliot talks Ray in the same episode. They talk about “The whole thing is a fall” … that the only solution is to keep “stumbling in the dark” … again … it is really on point with how I feel and how I have always felt about life, the universe and everything … what is optimism in a random world without reason? Why do we seek a “god” to give us purpose? Why do we perpetually seek hope from above … when all we need is below? What do you think?
[Spoilers S2E3] The amazing “stumbling in the dark” speech —
You know that bullshit people say about how, when you fall, you gotta get up? I reject that shit man. You know why?
The whole thing is a fall. It can’t help but be.
A perpetual state of grasping in the dark.
It’s not about getting up. It’s about stumbling. Stumbling in the right direction.
It’s the only true way to move forward.
