A pastor who quit her role in the church to become a stripper says that selling x-rated content online is her new ‘calling’. Nikole Mitchell, 36, from Orange Country, California, grew up in a strict Baptist family and was training to become the leader of her Christian congregation, but abandoned the pulpit after discovering she was queer. The mother-of-three appeared on This Morning today, revealing that after coming out as bisexual, she no longer felt she had a place in the church, and decided fulfil her teenage fantasy of becoming an erotic dancer. She now shares raunchy pictures on her Instagram account, which has amassed nearly 95,000 followers, and has an OnlyFans account, where she sells further racy content to paying customers.
I’d always was part of the church,’ she explained. ‘And loved the church and the people and did all I could to fulfill my leadership calling in the church, until I couldn’t fit there. ‘I was queer, my church didn’t accept queer people. I had these desires and I decided to finally step into the unknown and see where it led me, and it led me here and I’m very grateful for it.’
Nikole accepts that her new profession could be considered ‘sinful’ by her former congregation, but trusts that she has discovered her ‘calling’. ‘What I do is very polarizing,’ she said. ‘People are either a-okay with it or they’re not okay with it.
‘So at the end of the day, I have to decide what I am called to do and trust that calling with my life and let the chips fall where they may. A lot of people have supported me, but I have lost a lot along the way.’ The mother was married to her husband of seven years John when she came out as bisexual, who she says was completely accepting of her sexuality, and has ‘supported her every step of the way’.
‘John is a beautiful soul,’ said Nikole. ‘I thought I was straight and it was six or seven years into my marriage and I knew he would support me.’He was the first person I told, he said it was natural and normal and he has supported me every step of the way.’ When asked whether it was her decision to leave the church, or whether she was pushed out because of her sexuality, the mother said: ‘It was a mixture. ‘Of me not being able to bring the wholeness of myself to that space, and the more I trusted myself and walked down that path, the less it was acceptable at the church.’ Nikole’s children are five, seven and ten, and the mother told she is already having ‘age appropriate’ conversations with her kids about her career.
‘I think as any parent we want the best for our kids and never want to hurt them,’ she said. ‘They know I do modelling and nude modelling and we’re having age appropriate conversations. ‘I think that when they see my work when they’re older they’ll laugh and say “Mommy someone can do it better than you”. Speaking about her online ‘community’, the mother told that while she started off with relatively ‘conservative’ images, she’s eventually built up to post raunchier content.
She said: ‘It’s a little community where they can get to know me not on social media and it’s a great space. She went on: ‘It’s a little more exposed, when I first started I was conservative and modest and now there is definitely more explicit content, not suitable for your channel today.’
Good for her. Don’t let other’s expectations of you influence how you want to live your life.
Hail BG – it takes guts though – not a simple or easy choice to make
