I Am A Witch
♀️— I am a Witch. I do not honor Satan, I have no interest in him. Satan was invented by Christians. Satanism is a form of Christianity. I am not a Christian. I don’t go to church on Sundays. Jesus is not my savior. To me, he’s just a holy man who lived two thousand years ago. I’m not afraid to go to hell, because I don’t believe in hell, just like I don’t trust, Satan. I believe in reincarnation; that he will return to this world or another and live another life.
♀️— I’m not mean. Telling people I’m “A good witch,” or asking myself if I’m a good witch implies that “Bad witches,” exist. There are evil people in the world, and there are people who decide to work with the forces of nature to hurt others; these people are not witches. The basic law of being a witch is, “If you don’t hurt anyone, do what you want.”
♀️— Please don’t ask me to slaughter cats or desecrate churches. I love my cats. And I don’t go to churches unless a friend of that religion invites me for some special occasion; and if I go to church, I’m not struck by lightning. And if a Christian, Jew, or Buddhist came to a pagan ritual, our Gods would not strike them.
♀️— Isn’t that something to think about? Wearing a pentacle is not different from wearing a cross, crucifix or star of David. If you want me to remove the symbol of my religion because it’s offensive, you’ve got to make everyone who practices other religions do it.
♀️— The five points of the star represent the elements of Earth, Air, Fire, and Water, and the fifth point is Spirit; surrounded by the world. How this symbol can annoy someone wonders my pagan mind.
♀️ — The image of a tortured and dying man is more offensive, yet every day, millions of people openly exhibit and wear the crucifix. And then, don’t ask me if I’m part of a congregation with that tone of voice half upset and half charmed. If I want to talk about my congregation, I will talk about it. If I’m a solitary practitioner, I can’t talk about congregation.
♀️— However, our rituals have candles, food, drink, poetry, and dancing … yes, there is a knife but we only use it to cut air, not other people’s meat. I don’t drink blood. I’m not some kind of vampire. I wear black because it’s the color that keeps negativity away and because it suits me more than an orange and purple polka dot dress.
♀️— If you want to ask me about my religion, ask me when the next full moon is, or the next blue moon. Or what the heck is the blue moon? Ask me about herbs. Crystals. Healing. Ask me for a love potion, but remember I don’t cast spells on other people, I’ll encourage you to do so.
♀️ I will not cast spells on you to make you prettier, slimmer, or more desirable. And I won’t cast a spell on a person to make them love you back. Believe me, you don’t want this, and you don’t even want the spell to come back against you. This is manipulation, stripping someone of their power, breaking free will. Not cute at all. And then I will not cast a spell on someone to prevent them from doing something to you or to stop it. Spells are about co-creation. A witch works with universal energies, with the Gods, to suspend the mechanisms of probability in our direction.
♀️— Do you need money? Don’t curse your boss for giving you a raise. Just ask the universe to increase your flow of abundance. This does not break any free will.
♀️— One last thing — giving me a book about the Inquisition is like giving a book about the Holocaust to a Jew. Not funny but rude and offensive. Yes, I go to Salem, but not because some of those poor people who were executed were witches, but because there’s a pagan little shop called “East Cow” flop. Please don’t make me ashamed for what I believe in and for who I am. Please don’t try to convert me or save me or help me find Jesus. Don’t throw holy water on me.
♀️— Don’t leave leaflets on the desk or in the mailbox. I don’t need to be saved.
♀️— Witches are proud of the fact that they don’t recruit people to become witches. We just are. And those around us see how we think, how we act, and our inner peace, and only when someone asks us “How do I become a witch? ” only then do we take them under our wing.
♀️ — I would never give out religious flyers to anyone. I don’t have any unless this letter counts. And I’m not asking you to convert. I’m just asking you to understand. If you don’t want to understand, then leave me alone. Be blessed. A Witch. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
