For The Unloveable

Something I really appreciate about ghost and their approach to Lucifer as a symbol and an entity is that the Devil always has grace, love, and forgiveness, for the unloveable.

Of course the aesthetic and iconography often evoke a more traditional “evil” portrayal of the Devil but I think it’s notable how in the end Lucifer always welcomes you with open arms when the rest of the world have deemed you as unfixable, inherently broken, sinful and lost.

Now with satanized out, I was thinking about it again. The feeling of being pushed and pushed, being told you’re a lost cause, your soul is rotten and you are beyond saving. They alienate and shame you so much that the only person you can relate to is the devil himself. The thing they call the monster inside you is just who you truly are and it’s waiting to be seen and loved.

And in the end Lucifer was pushed away himself, he understands how it feels and he will wait for you to realize that it’s safe to live as your true self. I just got sentimental about that again.
