Dreams Can Be So Vivid
Last night I had a long dream. A vivid dream. A dream that I awoke from, but whose details remained so clear. Its tonality was reminiscent of “Great Expectations” … and I was the protagonist, Finnegan “Finn” Bell … that had been subjected to a complete mental breakdown and forced to take a leave of absence for two years in an unnamed institution.
This all took place in a city that I was unfamiliar with — located somewhere in the deepest, darkest Canada (don’t ask why). Though I didn’t want to go, I was compelled by forces beyond my own control.
Institutionalized, I took the time to learn to paint. There, I perfected my technique and eventually had an exhibition of my “works”. Of course, the paintings were not of nature for public display, as they bared the soul of a seriously disturbed individual with an onslaught of sexual issues.
However, the exhibitors published the works in a colorful brochure with photos of me dressed like an artisan. I remember attending the opening of the exhibition and lots of people were “buying” the work. Seems my images were very popular.
So this morning, after this dream, I felt refreshed and energized. What shall I paint today?
