XP Notes: What a wonderful world we live in when there were real life villains like Benedict IX — he is great fodder for a story — don’t you think? — and in the spirit of “stranger than fiction” here are some of the notes that I collected about him over the years. Some of these notes no longer exist, as the links were deactivated (some of these notes maybe a little repetitive — but please persevere). I can tell you that I find the whole sordid story such a delicious delight … let me know if you think this could be an interesting tale for us to explore together?  

 

Benedict IX

1032-1044 / 1045 / 1047-1048

The child-pope Benedict IX (who may have been Pope as young as twelve) ordered murders and dabbled in witchcraft and Satanism. He was reputed to enjoy hosting wild, bi-sexual orgies, and St Peter Damian said of him:

“That wretch, from the beginning of his pontificate to the end of his life, feasted on immorality”.

Dante estimated that under Benedict IX the papacy reached an all-time low in immorality and debauchery. When he was 23 he survived an assassination attempt (strangling at the altar during Mass). Benedict went on to marry his cousin and sell the papacy to his Godfather, Gregory VI.  Pope Victor III referred to, “his rapes, murders and other unspeakable acts (a) life as a Pope so vile, so foul, so execrable, that I shudder to think of it.”

He was twice sent packing by an armed force, the second time during his early twenties, only to return once again in a few months to resume where he left off. After accepting a bribe of the entire donations of the church of England as a pension, Benedict was finally convinced to resign as Pope, and went off to pursue wine, women, and song in his castle on his country estate, leaving Rome, we are told, to the great jubilation of the crowds celebrating his departure. Life away from the power center of Rome proved disagreeable to Benedict, who upon the death of a following Pope, took the opportunity to resume the throne for a little less than a year. He was soon  replaced by Damasus II, who did not live long, having been poisoned by Benedict.

MORE ABOUT BENEDICT IX

Pope Benedict IX (1032–1044, again in 1045 and finally 1047–1048) was said to have conducted a very dissolute life during his papacy. Accused by Bishop Benno of Placenta of “many vile adulteries and murders.” Pope Victor III referred in his third book of Dialogues to “his rapes, murders and other unspeakable acts. His life as a Pope so vile, so foul, so execrable, that I shudder to think of it.” It prompted St. Peter Damian to write an extended treatise against sex in general, and homosexuality in particular.

In his Liber Gomorrhianus, St. Peter Damian recorded that Benedict “feasted on immorality” and that he was “a demon from hell in the disguise of a priest”, accusing Benedict IX of routine sodomy and bestiality and was said to have sponsored orgies. In May 1045, Benedict IX resigned his office to pursue marriage, selling his office for 1,500 pounds of gold to his godfather, the pious priest John Gratian, who named himself Pope Gregory VI.

This abyss of all errors (Abyssus Errorum) is justly compared to the “abysmal well’ mentioned in Revelation (abyssus putei, ix, 1-3 ), whose emanations darken the light of the sun and poison the air. It is this accursed Sect whose perversion was stigmatized by Pope Pius IX when he named it: “The Synagogue of Satan.” Due to its enormous extension and its nowadays very visible collusion with International Jewish Finance, Freemasonry has indeed become the “Synagogue of Satan.”

How exactly is this related to his being part of the “army of perverts”, as you charge?    

In October 1032 the papal miter was purchased for the 11-year old Benedict IX. Upon reaching his 14th year, a chronicler wrote that Benedict had already surpassed in wantonness and profligacy all who had preceded him. He often had to leave Rome in a hurry.

“Popes had mistresses as young as fifteen years of age, were guilty of incest and sexual perversions of every sort, had innumerable children, were murdered in the very act of adultery … In the old Catholic phrase, why be holier than the Pope?”

“Most frighteningly for John Paul, he had come up against the irremovable presence of a malign strength in his own Vatican and in certain bishop’s chanceries. It was what knowledgeable Churchmen called the ‘super force.’ Rumors, difficult to verify, tied its installation to the beginning of Paul VI’s reign in 1963. Indeed, Paul had alluded somberly to ‘the smoke of Satan which has entered the Sanctuary’ — an oblique reference to an enthronement ceremony performed by Satanists in the Vatican. Besides, the incidence of Satanic pedophilia — rites and practices — was already documented among certain bishops and priests as widely dispersed as Turin in Italy and South Carolina in the United States. The cultic acts of Satanic pedophilia are considered by professionals to be the culmination of the Fallen Archangel’s rites.”

Devils in the Vatican would come as no surprise to Msgr. Luigi Marinelli. His book Gone With the Wind at the Vatican fairly flew off the shelves in Italy, revealing as it did stories of money-laundering prelates, sex abuse and Satanic rituals performed within the walls of the Holy See.

Of obtaining property by robbery (1033 CE) That Pope Benedict IX did organize priests to dress up as robbers along the roads leading to Rome to rob pilgrims, of their wealth and sometimes capture their children for sacrifice in St. Peters.

Of repeated incest: (1032 on wards) That Pope Benedict VIII also known Benedict IX did commit repeated incest upon all his children, male and female and did father several illegitimate children.

Of sodomy and murder: (1012- 1070’s): That Pope Benedict VIII also known as Pope Benedict IX did commit upon the altar of St. Peters and other churches of the Roman Catholic Empire the ritualistic sodomy of children followed by their cruel and brutal murder.

Of repeated rapes, murders, incest and moral depravity: (1012 – 1024 CE) That Pope Benedict VIII did maintain the new traditions of the Roman Catholic Papacy by maintaining within St. Peter’s Church itself the regular ancient rituals of the Israelite Kings and High priests of the line of Solomon in conducting drug fueled sexual orgies, infanticide, ritual killing of women during and after sex, cannibalism and other completely depraved acts.

Of murder by torture and cruelty for the purpose of Satanism: (1022) That Pope Benedict VIII did regularly order people, especially children be sacrificed by fire, consistent with ancient Jewish satanic traditions including the burning of 13 heretics in Orleans by King Robert the Pius.

Of bestiality: (1012 – 1070’s): That Pope Benedict VIII also known as Pope Benedict IX did commit bestiality with animals both within sacred churches and in the open, including the subsequent killing of these animals as part of modified satanic rituals.

They accused him of incest and sexual perversions of every sort, upon the innumerable children, both male and female, that he fathered, ritualistically sodomizing children, followed by their cruel and brutal murder in human sacrifice on pagan altars in sacrilegious rites

Benedict IX (1033-1048) had sex with animals, dabbled in witchcraft and satanism. He sold the papacy to his godfather after someone tried to strangle him at the altar during mass.

The stories about Benedict’s behavior reached heights comparable to the most notorious popes. He was accused of habitual sodomy and bestiality, and was said to have sponsored orgies where any available orifice was considered fair game. His excesses were so legendary that they helped prompt St. Peter Damian, a cloistered monk, to write an extended treatise against sex in general, and homosexuality in particular, with a special focus on how these practices had become rampant within the Catholic priesthood and even the papacy itself. In Liber Gomorrhianus (The Book of Gomorrah), Damian railed against homosexuality in explicit detail for more than 100 pages, lumping in masturbation and dry-humping for good measure. Damian recorded that Benedict “feasted on immorality” and that he was “a demon from hell in the disguise of a priest.” Benedict’s sex life might have been colorful, but it wasn’t exactly unusual. The papacy and the clergy at large had fallen into serious disrepute over the preceding 200 years.

In 1032 to 1044 CE, Pope Benedict IX had reigned. He had become Pope through bribery. He had sex with men, women and animals. He gave orders for people to be murdered. He also practiced witchcraft and Satanism. The citizens of Rome hated Benedict so much that on two occasions he had to flee from Rome. Benedict sold the papacy to Pope Gregory VI. As part of the deal, he continued to live in the Lateran Palace, with a generous income. Benedict filled the Lateran Palace with prostitutes. A fine idea for a church that is a Spiritual whore!

He was born, Theophylactus of Tusculum, in Rome in the year of our Lord 1012, and was destined to become the infamous ‘Pope Benedict IX’. He was said to conducted a very dissolute life during his papact that lasted from 1032 to 1044 and again from 1045 to 1048, until he resigned his office, selling it to his godfather, pious priest John Gratian, for 1,500 pounds of gold.
