Before The Hierophant by Occult Whores – Non-Fiction

Before the Hierophant is the Scarlett Woman girt with sword, representing Venus and/or Isis as she is now in the New Aeon of Horus, militant and no longer a mere vehicle of her male counter part and stressing equal partnership, for there is no “him” until she “names him”. The Moon is also exalted in this sign and is represent as her and the nine nails, seen in the dark upper background. She is further represented as the Five Petaled Rose behind the Phallic headdress of the Hierophant. All of this relating to the fact that the Patriarch is no longer the main force of this new Aeon, as the Divine Androgyny is now the driving force, i.e. the He/She in perfect Communion and balance.

When the Hierophant card is thrown:

The querent is experiencing divine wisdom. Manifestation and explanation. Teaching mainly in occult wisdom and/or seeking guidance in that area. There is also a choice implied here, of self alignment to a particular philosophy, religion or a set of beliefs to which a great deal of loyalty is felt. There is a marriage occurring between the Anima (Soul) and Animus (Spirit).

Patriarchy and the resulting oppressive law of orthodoxy. Some one acting as judge and jury, telling the querent how to morally be. In general, conforming to the cultural indoctrination and surrendering responsibility to social codes of behavior. The desire for self-teaching and learning. The need to make things tangible and practical.
