Greetings, hellraisers!
Well, I can hardly believe it myself, but Toxic Vision is fifteen years old! It has been a wild ride, to say the least! When I started Toxic Vision, I didn’t really have a solid plan, I didn’t know anything – I barely knew how to sew..I was still a teenager finishing up high school in a small city in Saskatchewan. I just knew I had to do it. I was hungry – I still am! I’ve poured everything I have into this -mind body and spirit..and I will continue to do so. In some ways, it really feels like I’ve just begun. I would like to thank you for coming along for the ride, I could’ve never expected this amount of support from around the globe.
To mark this occasion, I am humbly presenting this one of a kind collection. I put a lot of work into this one..I don’t think my embroidery machine has rested at all over the last few weeks! I’ve also fired up the plasma cutter, and revisited an older technique of making sheet metal back patches, along with my second crack at soutache (the red/black and gold Memento Mori jackets) that also are adorned with some trims and findings from a recent trip to Barcelona – the old shop where I found the trim explained that this was always purchased by the church to adorn priest’s robes…ohhh what a treat to have had it now in my own hands. This collection also features two pieces that were a collaboration with my husband. He hand tooled the leather back pieces on the fringe and Devil biker jackets! I’ve also made three more jackets honoring the work of Francisco Goya and Gustave Dore. I suppose I could go on and on here, but perhaps I will not bore you with the details and let the photos do the talking instead. Thanks for taking the time to look!
