Drawn To The Darkness (A Song For Satan)
I am drawn to the darkness, to the shadows and the shade.
I detest vibrant colors, I can’t wait for them to fade.
I am drawn to the darkness, I feel it coursing through my veins.
In and out of my black heart and up into my brain.
How I long for the sunset, for the daylight to dissolve.
Into the blessed twilight as the cover of night falls.
I dream that my nightmares have all come to pass.
And wake to find the world doomed and headed to hell fast.
Take that cross and turn it upside down,
forsake that church and burn it to the ground.
I am drawn to the darkness like a moth to a flame.
In either case the outcome would probably be the same.
I am drawn to the darkness by an angel of light.
Cast straight out of heaven for the crime of being right.
If I’m being honest, I’ve always felt this way.
I never bought what I was taught, from the path I strayed.
Every since I was a child, He’s whispered in my ear.
A message of empowerment that to this day I hear.
Take that cross and turn it upside down,
forsake that church and burn it to the ground.
I am drawn to the darkness, I feel warm in its embrace.
All those catholic guilt trips are gone without a trace.
I am drawn to the darkness like Wednesdays’ child of wow.
I am fueled by the fire that burns down below.
There is only one commandment: do as you desire.
If you want to feel His warmth, come closer to the fire.
Take that cross and turn it upside down,
forsake that church and burn it to the ground.
RESPONSE FROM XP (VIA LS666 BLOG)
Thanks “Guidemyhand” for this. Love the chorus, “Take that cross and turn it upside down, forsake that church and burn it to the ground.” (Metaphorically, of course). Excellent stuff … I’d love to add it to the repertoire of my all-girl-tween-band — “Lilith’s Blood” — I can imagine them all belting out this song on stage. If you haven’t read their story, check out https://littlesally666.com/liliths-blood/
LILITH’S BLOOD
Yes! GREAT song for Lillith’s blood!
