In a time of chaos and uncertainty, when traditional belief systems, such as organized religions, no longer seem to have all the answers, more and more of today’s people are finding comfort in the form of the occult and mysticism. Many are regular people who think for themselves and simply trying to squeeze the most out of life.

Everything about my life seems perfectly ordinary. I am a manager in a service industry that resulted in many bonuses throughout the years. I also love surfing and the beach, and every weekend, I often go on weekend Long Beach excursions. When I am not busy at work I am jogging, running as well as cross-training. Marathon training, to be precise.

But something in this forty-three-year-old’s bedroom hints at a life less ordinary. In between the bib numbers and medals from my obstacle races, ten kilometers, and marathons, on top of a Koa wood chest, sits Lilith’s altar. I know, many say never have an altar where you sleep. I walk my own path and ask what better way to offer my body, mind, heart, and soul to Lilith and Lucifer for their possession.

I credit Lilith and Lucifer for a lot of the successes in my life. They are always encouraging me to push myself. Many like me take their influence into a career, some people take it intellectually, and some people take it physically. I believe they influence all of these in my life.

I do not believe in worshiping any external forces regardless if real or spiritual, but instead worship myself. By doing everything in my power to achieve my fullest potential. This means my use of Magick.

Magick is about the day-to-day things I can do to help get what I want out of the world. It is as simple as wearing my most Lustful clothes to a job interview or taking my boss for drinks before asking for a pay rise.
