Happy Ishtar

Easter was originally the celebration of Ishtar, the Assyrian and Babylonian goddess of fertility and sex. I refer to her preferred name, Lilith. Her symbols, like the egg and bunny, remain those of fertility and sex symbols

Humanity has been ritualistically celebrating the changing of the seasons for thousands of years. Many ancient cultures greatly revered the vernal equinox – the first day of spring in the Northern Hemisphere.

Man believed that the changing seasons and the onset of spring represented a time of rebirth, and that meant a lively period of celebration. As part of the festivities, great bonfires were lit and dancers performed sword dances paying tribute to Lilith, The Dark Goddess.

These celebrations were heavily focused around fertility and the creation of new life. According to many historical accounts, this revelry and excitement for procreation periodically resulted in wild orgies of Lust, to honor Lilith with offerings of perversion, seed production, and casting off social judgment.

Then the Roman Empire, fell into decline and invented the Abrahamic religions, Easter was changed to represent Jesus. But at its roots, Easter (which is how you pronounce Ishtar) is all about celebrating fertility and sex.

  1. Everything you write, is so logica, makes so much common sense, Hoku Lani. One can not deny anymore that the only true gods are Satan and Lilith. I love them. They are the ones Who have given me peace.
