VIRTUE & SIN — BLASPHEMY IN HINDUISM
“Any religion which considers life meaningless and full of misery, and teaches the hatred of life, is not a true religion. Religion is an art that shows how to enjoy life.”
There is no concept of blasphemy in Hinduism. Hinduism is always open to all meaningful debate and nothing is mandatory. Hindus have freedom to choose their own path of worshiping Goddesses or Gods, prophets or sanity. That doesn’t mean Hindus are blind to personal abusive insult. In a verse which is written in hundreds of thousands of Scriptures says Virtue is any act which benefits another and sin is that deed which causes suffering to others.
RAJNEESH
Armed with this perspective of Sin and Virtue, I look at Hindu guru, Rajneesh. Considered one of the most controversial spiritual leaders during the twentieth century, Rajneesh was outspoken in his criticism of socialism, Gandhi and organized religion. One of the things I like most is that he advocated for a more open attitude towards sexuality, which earned him the sobriquet of “Sex Guru.”
Rajneesh discouraged marriage and having children. He saw families as prone to dysfunction. His communes in Oregon and England accepted contraception, sterilization, and beloved abortion. Rajneesh disregarded all laws, ethics and legalities as he wanted to create a society of his own vision with its own laws and rules. I believe that his vision is similar to what The Dark Goddess Lilith, would embrace as it exemplifies humanity’s ability to embrace freedom — So in conclusion, organized religion in itself is sin
