Be clear in how you communicate with others. Say what you mean. Mean what you say. And be clear, so that no one will misunderstand what you say. People will take great lengths to assume that they understand what you are saying that they won’t clarify.

Clarify by asking, “Did you mean this? At this amount of time? You wanted it done this way?”

Be calculating. Can what was said be taken the wrong way? Was offense taken? Were you being insensitive to what the other person was capable of doing? Now you are assuming that no one could possibly misinterpret what you say and yet it happens all the time.

Does the person have the time to perform the task? Is he really interested in doing what needs to be done?
