I believe that choosing to accept Satan mean we’re expressing our desires as “free thinkers” and exercising our rights to believe in whatever we want … be in philosophic or spiritual.
I also believe that the reason that some folks want to believe in their God is that they feel powerless and helpless in their everyday lives; that they need to know that, if they behave correctly, that they will be rewarded with a place in heaven … that is rather less “enlightened” perception of things.

So we try to fit that concept of life into some structure whereby if we follow these rules we will be ok. My understanding of fundamentalism seeks to establish a set of rules that must be followed so life is meaningful and individuals, collectively, have power to control their lives for good, however that is defined, i have never been a good follower of a set of rules just because or i say so. My preference is always to have a civil conversation. I think there is a perception that that those who reject stain ways cannot have reasoned conversations, but that is an obvious fallacy. My ideal situation would be to have a reason conversation with Jackie and allow her to judge her own views and understanding against what she knows, what she thinks she knows… and what she is learning outside of her closed world.
